Winston Joinery Ltd was established in Stoke on Trent in 1978 by Les Wagg. He was succeeded by his son Andrew in 1983 building a joinery company with a reputation for high quality, traditional, bespoke joinery. Over the years the market demanded the ability to install much of the joinery we manufactured and in 2000, a supply and install service was introduced. In 2009 Jamie Lovatt joined Andy to run the business and following Andy’s retirement, Jamie and his management team redefined the business as a genuine bespoke joinery manufacturing contractor, committed to the highest levels of product and service quality. Today, we are WJL, driven to deliver with the highest levels of customer service, integrity, professionalism and commitment to every project we undertake.

Our skilled team provides the full in-house design and manufacturing package, working from concept through to completion and always with our ‘safety first’ mindset to give our clients confidence and peace of mind.

Our Promise

We are committed to outstanding levels of service and quality. We embrace the challenges of design and seek to add value to this process with a proactive and positive approach. We are committed to provide a right first time product and employ quality assurance systems to ensure independence from the project teams.

We are a manufacturer at heart and have produced bespoke joinery for over 40 years in Stoke on Trent. Today we use technology to aide precision and efficiency without losing the traditional skills of our trade.

We have invested in on site technology to assist in our inspection and sign off processes – our aim is to achieve zero defects at handover by constantly monitoring, inspecting and correcting issues relating to quality. This drives up the culture of quality on site and throughout the process allowing us to strive for right first time in every instance.

We encourage our people to be decisive and to take responsibility for those decisions. If there’s a problem, we’ll own it and resolve it. This culture runs through the organisation and results in honest and open relationships with customers and colleagues alike.

We strive to make, maintain and retain long term relationships. Our growth has been built on the repeat work we do for our customers and we are proud of the supply and sub contractor chain we have developed.

As we have grown we have taken ever greater responsibility for the shadow we cast over the environment around us. We are committed to ensuring our carbon footprint is reduced wherever possible with investment in factory recycling, vehicle upgrades and tree planting.
