Our workshop team are experts when it comes to the design and manufacture of bespoke joinery services.
It plays a big part in what we do here at WJL, but what exactly is involved in the process?
Our team have written an explanatory blog that will answer any questions that you might have about bespoke joinery. Check it out below!
What is Bespoke Joinery?
Bespoke joinery can be defined as the creation of customised timber items to fit specific design and fabrication requirements. It can be approached in two ways; the project can either be designed and manufactured from scratch or alternatively, the project can be designed to fit in with the existing interior architecture. It’s a great way to practically maximise space in style.
How much does Bespoke Joinery cost?
Bespoke joinery is custom made and crafted by experienced, highly-skilled, specialists. Whilst it can be on the slightly more expensive side in comparison to a generic ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach, it’s certainly an investment that can provide years of durability whilst giving a space the ‘wow’ factor.
Why choose Bespoke Joinery?
It is an excellent choice if you want to draw attention to certain features of an interior design project or create a functional area that is both practical and aesthetically pleasing. Experienced joinery professionals are capable of designing, creating, and installing unique, high-quality components. Examples of this include doors, fitted furniture, reception counters, bars, staircases, and a plethora of other handcrafted goods.
What are some examples of Bespoke Joinery?
WJL has extensive experience working on several bespoke joinery projects which have helped to transform the interior areas for businesses from a variety of sectors including commercial, education, healthcare, hospitality and leisure.
Some of our projects were purposely designed to achieve a certain outcome, for instance, Roehampton University Library, where we worked alongside Osborne. The joinery is comprised of an extensive furniture package with reception and study desks but centred around a complex acoustic panelling design with uncompromising aesthetics. Other examples include Bar & Block steakhouse, where our team worked on the design, manufacture and installation of the front of house reception and check-in area, the restaurant and bar area and the back office.
Can Bespoke Joinery help your business?
According to the Global Consumer Trends 2022 report by Mintel, it is predicted that consumers will continue to seek enjoyment and pleasure in their free time in a bid to recover from the isolation brought on by the pandemic.
People are desperate to find ways to ‘escape’, and change up their everyday routine either by going to restaurants, leisure centres or hotels. Business owners should consider that while interior aesthetics go hand-in-hand with functionality, it’s also an essential part of providing a high-calibre customer experience. Functionality elements to consider include sound absorption, clever ambient lighting to create an atmosphere and more efficient heating bills, fire safety and insulation.
